A Standard Popeyes Experience
I had been reviewing restaurants one or two times a day for about a week and was getting pretty “fooded out,” so I was looking for something simple to grab and take back to where I was staying. I stopped at Popeyes and ordered the 2-piece spicy chicken with red beans and rice and a biscuit.
The drive-thru was quick, my order was correct, and the portions were good. The chicken tasted freshly cooked and everything was just as I expected from Popeyes. Nothing particularly stood out, but there wasn't anything wrong with the meal either. The chicken was crisp, the red beans and rice had good flavor and the portion was about average.
I also tried the strawberry cheesecake pie, which was decent, but I'm not sure I would order again. It didn't taste like cheesecake, or real strawberries. It was more like canned pie topping and pudding.
After a week of constantly trying new restaurants, sometimes a simple, familiar meal is exactly what you need. This was a standard Popeyes visit and did the job perfectly.— Paul
