Great Taco Truck, Open Late. Great Asada Mini Tacos

One of my favorite places for late night tacos. Prices have increased over the last couple years, and it seems the flavor of some of the items has declined as well. But even so the tacos here are still some of the better asada mini tacos in town.

I've eaten inside the restaurant and the food just didnt taste the same as the taco truck. The truck opens when the restaurant closes in the evening and stays open untl about 3am or so. Between 11pm and 2am is when the place really starts to fill up. Sometimes making it hard to get a parking spot.

The asada mini tacos here are amazing, and you can request the white queso blanco cheese, extra meat for a dollar upcharge, and garnishes of red radish and roasted habanero pepper.

The tables have cups of red and green salsa, both of which have excellent flavor. You'll find yourself scraping up the scraps on your plate the food is so good.

I've also tried the corn in a cup here, and a few other items. Everything has been really good, but the asada mini tacos are the stand out item here. The meat has good flavor, is crisp on the edges, and is served on small corn tortillas topped with onion and cilantro.

At the time of this review, the taco prices increased to about $9 for an order of 5. Still a decent price for quality tacos available in the late hours of the night.

Service is pretty quick even when its super busy.. When its completely full, you can expect a 20-30 minute wait for your food, all other times, the wait is about 10-12 minutes from ordering.

The atmosphere is also interesting, as theres a covered area with TV's sometimes with soccer matches on, or music videos, a separate window for snack bar items, and people just hang out having a good time after the bar, or just for a meal late at night on the weekend. It almost feels like your in Mexico at times.

Some Of The Best Street Tacos I've Had. Great Flavor, Plenty Of Toppings

I've tried countless food trucks and Mexican restaurants, and Erick's Tacos has some of the best mini tacos I've had, hands down.

One of the biggest advantages is the late-night schedule. This food truck stays open into the early hours of the morning, rain or shine. I've brought friends and coworkers here after working late, and it's become a great option when you're craving tacos in the middle of the night. Weekends can get pretty busy, especially around closing time when the bars let out, but during the week, you can usually order and have your food in 10 minutes or less.

My favorite item is the Carne Asada Street Tacos. You can add extra meat for a dollar at a time and include white cheese. An order of four tacos with $2 in extra meat and cheese comes to around $10. Unless you're especially hungry, that's usually enough to make a satisfying meal.

The tacos come topped with cilantro and onions, along with a grilled habanero pepper and slices of radish. The tables have green salsa, red salsa, and lime wedges available, so you can customize the flavor and heat to your liking.

I've also tried several other items here, including tortas, gorditas, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and a few desserts from the counter. I've sampled the street tacos with different meats, too. While many of these items were good, the carne asada tacos remain the standout.

The gorditas seemed expensive for their size, while the fish and shrimp tacos could have used more flavor. The other meat options were decent, but none quite matched the asada. More recently, we tried a new item featuring rotisserie-style meat with pineapple. I can't remember the name, but although it was good, I still preferred the carne asada tacos.

If you're looking for a great food truck, an affordable late-night meal, and some seriously good street tacos, Erick's Tacos is well worth a visit. The carne asada mini tacos are the reason I keep coming back.
