Hadnt Seen This Place Open In A Long Time.
I was surprised to see cars in the parking lot at Bun N' Barrel, since this location seems to be shuttered off and on, so I decided to stop in and see what was on the menu while it was open.
One item that intrigued me was the Thai burger, so I decided to order that. The menu described it as a half-pound certified Angus beef patty with a deep char, melted cheese (a Swiss or cheddar blend), fresh avocado, spicy mayo, and Thai chile sauce on top.
It was good, though maybe not quite the flavor I was looking for. Other reviews online mentioned it being spicy, but to me it fell somewhere more in the medium range. I wouldn't say it was good enough to bring me back specifically for another one, but it was a unique burger to try, and it's an unusual item to find on the menu of what's otherwise a 50's style burger joint, though it makes a little more sense once you realize they're located directly next door to a well-known Thai restaurant.
I paired it with some onion rings, which were a bit dry for my taste. Overall the meal was decent.— Paul
