When They Are Fresh & Hot They Are The Best
Krispy Kreme donuts really shine when you get them hot. You have to time your visit for when the red "Hot Now" sign is lit, because they pretty much melt in your mouth when they're fresh like that.
The downside is that they're incredibly addictive in that state. You can easily eat about three before your body starts telling you this isn't a good idea, and the sweetness of what you just ate catches up to your taste buds all at once. I've managed to empty nearly half a box on just a 30 minute car ride across town.
When this location first opened, I couldn't resist making a U-turn late at night to hit the drive-thru whenever I saw that red sign lit up. Now that they've been open for a while, I only really go when there's a special or some seasonal flavor I want to try, but the donuts are still just as delicious as ever.— Paul
