First Time Dining Here, A Solid Choice For Cajun Food In San Antonio
Acadiana Cafe has been a San Antonio staple for Cajun food for a long time, so I stopped in for a late lunch to check it out.
I ordered the Cajun Sampler, with the gumbo swapped out for fried crawfish since I'm not big on gumbo, and the waitress was more than willing to make the substitution. The etouffee ended up being the best thing on the plate, rich and flavorful and easily the standout. The fried crawfish was a close second, with a nice crisp crust that wasn't overly thick. The red beans and rice held their own too, with the beans having a nice thick consistency.
The meal was priced affordably, all the food had good flavor and service was decent, though there were only a few other diners in the restaurant while I was there.
Overall a solid Cajun lunch, worth a visit if you're in the area and in the mood for something other than Tex-Mex or barbecue.— Paul
