    California Chain Fast Food Hamburgers.

I had first seen this chain while visiting Las Vega. Then witnessed someone doing a challenge where they ordered a 50x50 (patties/cheese). A year or two later I saw someone order and even bigger burger.

I figured since this one had opened in San Antonio, Id give it a try.. not the 50 patty burger, but maybe the Double Double.. a 2x2 burger. People had told me there were "secret" menu items, which I came back for later. I'll do another review for those.

I ordered and took a seat, the food came out decently quick. The burger looked pretty good. The fries a bit more than fully cooked. I took a bite of the burger, and the first thing I noticed was that all the vegetables were crisp, had a crunch to them, the tomato was super juicy, so much so the water from the slice was running out the wrapper, and the bun had started to get soggy. The flavor was pretty good, but maybe a bit more vegetably (is that even a word) than Id care for.

The fries were decent, the flavor not overly impressive to me. I had to wonder if these were frozen, or fresh, or if something had been done to them, because they had an odd texture and flavor. I found out later they are sliced fresh in the back from whole potatos. I guess they are just a bit more starchy than a blanched potato, since they are fried straight from fresh potatos.

Overall the meal was good. Not sure either of the items are a favorite. The flavor is absolutely different. The burger has a much fresher flavor as far as the toppings go, as far as the meat, it tasted about average. The fries as mentioned a bit odd to me.. But nothing bad. Im not sure how I would describe it in comparison to other burger chain places. Maybe less processed?

I'll be back to try some more items, order up those secret menu items, and see if one of the other versions of the burgers here becomes a favorite.
