Wide Variety Of Thai & Vietnamese Food, But Average Flavor On Thai Food
Just recently tried this place because I had passed by it many times while driving through downtown and was curious to finally give it a try.
I ordered the Pad Thai, but unfortunately, the flavor was a little underwhelming. I've eaten at dozens of Thai restaurants, and this one landed somewhere in the middle for me. It wasn't bland or bad, but it didn't have the depth of flavor that really makes a Pad Thai stand out.
Prices were about average, and the menu has a pretty wide variety of options, ranging from ramen and soups to traditional Thai and Vietnamese dishes.
My friend and I actually wondered if we had both ordered the wrong things because the restaurant has so many good reviews. It's possible we just happened to choose items that didn't really showcase what the kitchen does best. We also eat at a lot of family-owned Thai and other Asian restaurants where the owners and family members are often working in the kitchen and preparing food that is very authentic to their culture. That wasn't quite the atmosphere I got here, with younger waiters and waitresses handling the dining room.
I may give it one more try and order one of the dishes that people specifically recommend in their reviews. There is enough variety on the menu that I wouldn't completely write the place off. But based on my first visit and the Pad Thai I ordered, I wasn't particularly impressed.— Paul
