Average Buffet For A Small Town. But A Decent Number Of Items.

I stumbled across this place while traveling for work and decided to give it a try. The first thing that caught my attention was that the restaurant was attached to a hotel. It was a little unusual, although certainly not the first time I’ve seen a restaurant set up this way.

The buffet was a decent size, with plenty of tables and a respectable selection of food. Considering this was a relatively small town, I wasn’t expecting a huge buffet, but there were actually a good number of options, with enough variety to satisfy most tastes.

I tried the General Chicken, baked seafood, beef and broccoli, rice noodles, and rangoons. Overall, the food was pretty much what I would describe as average for a small-town Chinese buffet. Nothing really stood out as exceptional, although there were a couple of items that fell a little below average. At the same time, there wasn’t anything I tried that was particularly bad. I felt like a few items had been out for a while and would have been better fresh.

The flavors and selection reminded me of many of the Chinese buffets I’ve visited while traveling through smaller towns. You get the familiar selection of basic Chinese-American dishes, and this place fits pretty well into that category. Everything I tried was decent and perfectly edible, but I didn’t find anything that made me think, “I need to come back just for this.”

The price was fair considering the quality and selection, and I had no complaints about the overall value. I’ve eaten at plenty of Chinese buffets on the road, and this one was a perfectly acceptable option when you’re looking for a quick, reasonably priced meal.

Update: Since I originally wrote this review, it appears they have moved into their own building down the street. I’ll update the location information with the new address when I can.
