Minimal Selection, Cold, Chewy & Bland Items.
I was on the road traveling, never having been to Rolla before, and decided I was in the mood for Chinese food. I was surprised to see there was a buffet, so I went further into town to check it out. When I drove up I saw the window outside advertising "over 60 items".
I went inside, there were a few people dining, another 6 younger individuals arrived while I was there, but I had seen something about a college located here, so I wasnt surprised to see a lot of younger people at a Chinese buffet. I took a seat and was waited on pretty quickly, drink arrived, and I went to see what was on the buffet.
One whole bar was dedicated to jello, cookies, sauces, cakes, & fruit. Another bar had eggrolls, spring rolls, rangoons, chinese doughnuts, soup, and 4 kinds of dimsum.
The last bar had about 6 entrees including triple delight, general chicken, and a few fried items including mozerella sticks, chicken wings, and noodles . If there was actually 60 items on the buffet they were counting generously. The selection was pretty minimal, and was your basic menu selection.
Of the items I tried many were cold, chewy or had poor flavor. Some items were not being refilled even though 1 serving remained on the buffet. The general chicken was soggy, the rice had almost no flavor, crab rangoons were chewy, and I struggled to find anything that would leave me satisfied before getting back on the road.
Overall I wasn't impressed, for a stop while traveling, and just looking for something on the main street, this was a total disappointment. The majority of the food was just average or poor.— Paul
