AYCE Korean BBQ - Really Good Flavors & Flavorful Meats
As far as Korean BBQ restaurants go, this is definitely one of my favorites. What makes it even better is that they offer an all-you-can-eat option.
This was my second visit to Charm Korean BBQ, and I've actually been tempted to make the 90-minute drive each way just to eat here. That's saying something considering how many Korean BBQ restaurants are available closer to home.
They offer three all-you-can-eat options, with each level adding additional upgraded meat selections for about $10 more. Even the basic option has a good variety, including bulgogi, pork belly, garlic beef, pork shoulder, beef belly, marinated beef, marinated chicken, buckwheat noodles, doenjang jjigae, and more.
The banchan selection is another highlight. You get all the Korean side dishes you could want, and they're excellent. The pickled garlic, Korean corn, and radish are some of my favorites. There are also three sauces/oils for the meats, with the salt-and-pepper sesame oil being my favorite.
One thing I really like is that there isn't a limit on how many times you can order. Some AYCE Korean BBQ restaurants restrict the number of rounds, which can leave you trying to guess how much to order. Here, with two or more people, you can keep ordering as you go. On this visit, we ordered at least four times.
The pork belly is one of my favorites, and I have to get at least one order every time I visit. The meats are brought to your table and you cook them yourself, but the staff is very attentive. They frequently come by to add meat to the grill, turn what's cooking, and refill the side dishes. That gives you a little more time to enjoy your meal without constantly having to watch the grill.
For anyone who loves Korean BBQ, I would definitely recommend giving Charm Korean BBQ a try. The food, selection, AYCE setup, and service make this one of my favorite Korean BBQ experiences.— Paul
