Decent Beef Fajitas, But An Odd Tortillas Situation
Tried this place while visiting Pagosa Springs. We are yearly regulars in Pagosa and have gotten to know a lot of the locals. We had a few people recommend Tequilas so one night we decided to give it a try. We generally avoid Mexican food while traveling because of where we are from.
Realize that we are from San Antonio, TX. So theres Mexican restaurants on almost every corner. A lot of them make their tortillas from scratch or at the very least throw them on the grill and brown them, and serve them in special tortilla holders to keep them warm.
We decided to try Tequilas anyways and play it safe with the Fajita plate for two. The few people who recommended Tequilas mentioned the Burrito of the Sea.
When our order came out there were 4 tortillas. We asked if we could get some more tortillas and we were asked "How many?", we answered "3 or 4".. Thats when we were told there was a charge for the tortillas so they needed an exact number.. We thought this was funny.. because tortillas flow like water back home. The tortillas that came out were not warm, and tasted like they were from a bag.
The fajitas were not overly impressive, the service was rather lacking even though there were only 4 people in the entire place and the sides were just average.
Like some of the other reviews said, "This is an excellent location, with excellent views. Its just sad that the food and service was not better than it was." I think they pretty much captured the situation.— Paul
