First Japanese Buffet I've Been To, Lots Of Great Items
I visited Toyko One a few years ago while visiting Dallas. I had gone online and looked up the best buffets in Dallas and this one had made several peoples lists.
I was overwhelmed by the selection of items I don't normally find on buffets. The sushi selection was extensive, with sashimi, nigiri and a dozen different rolls. The tuna and salmon were fresh, and had excellent flavor. The sushi bar also included some items I decided to try being an adventurous eater, one of them was a type of sea snail. The sea snail was definitely not the highlight of the meal, Im not sure what it should be like but the one I tried was very rubbery. When I bit down on it, it just squished like a piece or rubber, and then popped right back into shape. It took a very hard bite to get it to break apart and when it did I can only describe it as rubber shattering. I just had smaller pieces of rubbery stuff. There was almost no flavor to it. But it was a new experience. Im just not sure if it was overcooked or what.
In addition to the sushi was a noodle bar, with ramen, & miso. A hibachi grill was also included along with galbi ribs, baked oysters, and many other items.
Deserts were impressive as well, with a selection of items on the buffet, but the waitress offered green tea ice cream and red bean ice cream, which were great as well.
I plan to visit again when in town. Food is excellent, selection is great, service was good, price is a bit expensive but the selection and quality justifies the price.— Paul
