Visited A Western Sizzlin, It Had Been 20 Years Since I Had Last Eaten At One
I was passing thru late in the evening and decided to stop when I saw there was a Western Sizzlin. It had probably been about 20 years since I had last eaten at one, as most of them had closed up well over a decade ago in Texas.
I went inside and was seated, but felt out of place for some reason. The insides were kinda dark and I wasn't greeted or anything. I got up from the table and walked the buffet to see what was on it. I ended up ordering the shis-k-bob and buffet.
I tried a variety of items from the buffet, but was underwhelmed by the choices. The items I did try were not very good, some were rather bland, some were cold, and some tasted like they had been sitting out for a while, especially the shrimp and corn boil. The shrimp were tough, and the corn on the cobs had kernels that had shriveled up it, I assume because it had been sitting out a long time.
Overall there wasn't anything impressive on the buffet. The shis-k-bob and potato that were not on the buffet I ordered were OK, but still not great.
My waitress only came to my table 2 times during my visit, a different person delivered the steak when it was ready. I had a brief conversation with the waitress about my traveling, and where she was from because of her very strong southern accent.
Overall the buffet was pretty disappointing. I doubt I would return to this location, it seemed like buffet food was bad because foot traffic was slow.— Paul
