  Good Pad Thai

  I stopped for the night in Weatherford and asked the hotel staff for a recommendation on where to eat. They gave us a rather poor recommendation for Golden Moon, but since we were in the mood for Thai or Chinese food, we decided to give it a try anyway. I'm glad we did.
  
  We both ordered the Pad Thai, and the portions were surprisingly generous. In fact, there was more food than either of us could finish. I'm not sure what the hotel employee meant when he said you “don't get much for your money,” because that certainly wasn't our experience.
  
  The Pad Thai had good flavor and tasted fresh. It was the drier style of Pad Thai that I prefer, rather than the wetter version made with a heavier red tamarind-based sauce. The noodles had good texture, and there was enough food to make it a very satisfying meal.
  
  Service was very good, and our food came out fairly quickly after ordering. The restaurant advertises that it has been in business since the 1980s, and we figured that staying around for that long was probably a good indication that they were doing something right. Based on our visit, I can understand why they've been around so long.
  
  Despite the negative recommendation we received, Golden Moon turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The portions were generous, the food was fresh and flavorful, and the service was good. I'd definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try if you're staying in the Weatherford area and looking for good Thai food.
