  Decent Quality, Fresh Food Even An Hour Till Closing

  We arrived fairly late in the evening, around 8:00 p.m., so I wasn't expecting the buffet to have much left, especially with only about eight other people dining. Surprisingly, they were still bringing out fresh food and refilling the buffet while we were there. That was probably one of the biggest positives of the visit.
  
  The majority of the items we tried were good, although there were a few that were bland or didn't really stand out. For a last-minute buffet stop late in the evening, though, we weren't disappointed. One of the highlights was the coconut shrimp and pineapple shrimp, both of which had good flavor and were among the better items we tried.
  
  The buffet itself was decent, although the selection was somewhat limited compared with some of the larger Asian buffets. There wasn't much of a sushi selection, and some of the more expensive seafood and specialty items you sometimes find at other buffets weren't offered. However, the price was also considerably lower, so I felt the buffet was fairly priced for what was available. You get what you pay for, and in this case, I didn't feel like we were paying for a large selection that simply wasn't there.
  
  The service was actually one of the strongest parts of the visit. Our drinks were kept full throughout the meal, and our glasses never seemed to get more than halfway empty before someone came by to refill them. The staff was friendly, attentive, and seemed to be paying close attention to our table even though the restaurant was relatively quiet.
  
  Overall, I came away more impressed than I expected to be. The buffet wasn't perfect, and there were certainly some items that could have been better, but the freshness of the food late in the evening and the excellent service helped make up for some of the shortcomings in selection and flavor.
  
  Considering we arrived around 8:00 p.m. and were still getting freshly replenished food with attentive service, I thought the experience deserved a little better rating than I might have given based strictly on the buffet selection. For an inexpensive, last-minute buffet dinner, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
