  Great Calzones & Good Pizza

  I originally heard about Big Lou's from the Man v. Food TV show. Since it was fairly close to where I live, I decided to give it a try. I've only picked up food to go from this location, but I've ordered both pizzas and calzones over the years.
  
  The pizza is pretty good, but I actually prefer the calzones. They're a nice alternative to pizza and can be ordered with one to four toppings rolled inside, or even as a Supreme. The dough has great flavor and develops a nice crisp outer crust, while the sauce has a lot of flavor as well. The toppings are pretty generous and one thing I particularly like about the calzones is that they use whole slices of pepperoni, so when you take a bite, you can actually pull out whole slices along with the melted cheese.
  
  The quality and flavor here are a definite step up from the typical chain pizza restaurants. It's a good alternative when you're looking for something different from the usual pizza delivery options.
  
  I still haven't tried the BBQ pizza, which is on my list, as I've had several people tell me it's really good, so I'll have to give it a try on a future visit.
  
  Big Lou's is a good option if you're tired of the everyday chains. The food is good, the prices are reasonable compared with other pizza places, and with the large pizzas and variety of options, it's also a good choice if you're feeding a group of people.
